from the Editor
Welcome to the September 2006 edition of Your Health News - the
e-newsletter for YourDiagnosis subscribers.
So, how did you like the last issue of YourHealthNews? Here is
the next installment. Don't forget you can write to me at editor@yourdiagnosis.com
Where are all the bloggers? We have had quite a bit of interest
and requests for blogs at www.yourhealthblogs.com
but very few posts. Come on don't be shy - get blogging.
If you feel there are areas of health you would like us to cover,
let me know and if
there is enough interest I will see what I can do.
Cheers for now!

www.YourHealthBlogs.com
Have you ever wanted to start your own blog? Do you even know what
a blog is? Blog is short for web log and many people use them as
an online diary.
Having a blog is a great way to express yourself and get some thoughts
off your chest.
By having your own personal blog on YourHealthBlogs.com you can
record, for example:
- The every-day experiences of living with a medical condition
- The successes and failures you’ve had searching for answers
to a health question
- Progress you are making in improving your health
- Ask a health question
The great thing about writing in a blog is that it's so easy to
make updates from anywhere you have internet access plus you can
easily share it with others.
Why not have a look at what others have written. Click
here and see if it inspires you to join the health blogging
community.

Stop!
Is this healthy?
Food labeling made easy
In recent months we looked at the obesity epidemic occurring around
the world and what governments are doing to halt this insidious
killer.
Millions of us are putting on weight from eating take away (to-go)
meals every day such as hot chips, hamburgers and pizza. In Australia,
research by BIS Shrapnel showed that although one-third of Australians
eat fast food each day, 70% were looking for a healthier alternative.
People wanted to know what they were 'really' eating.
This month we look at ways we can make healthier meal choices.
Several countries have labeling programs that make it easier for
people to know what they are eating.

What
is Happiness?
Most people would have a hard time describing exactly what happiness

article on happiness fascinating because it had some surprising
results on what makes people happy, and its often not what you think.
Studies show that lots of money won't buy you happiness, but it
does help up to a point.

Your
Oral Health
Gateway to good health
Did you know that your mouth can tell you a lot about your health?
When you are having an examination, a dentist not only checks for
tooth cavities and gum problems, but can also spot the first sign
of infection and potentially pre-cancerous lesions.
It also works the other way around - unhealthy teeth and gums can
have negative impacts on your overall health.

Do
you get enough sleep?
More of us are sleeping a lot less, and much of this has to do
with changes in the way we work. People who work in health, law
enforcement and manufacturing have traditionally had shift work,
but globalization and competition is increasing the number of businesses
running '24/7' - that is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it's
taking its toll on our health.
